God has blessed my life as I am the proud parent of a beautiful
daughter, Skyy, the inspiration for our ministry name, and a fine young
man named Joshua, whom I love as a son and was blessed to call nephew.
Joshua remains forever sixteen within the hearts of all who knew him,
having died in 1999. As a parent we have such hope for all of our
children, and never dream we would possibly outlive them. Joshua
died an unnecessary, tragic
death, and is a sad reality that has pierced my soul with grief.
During the funeral, right along with me and my family, I watched
hundreds of teens with tear stained eyes mourn Joshua's death. Since
that time God has placed within my soul a mission and outreach towards
youth and teens that is at the core of my heart. The Joshua Project is
the result of God's call and mission in my life, to encourage, equip,
and challenge our next generation of soldiers for Jesus Christ. It is
my desire to nurture the vision within our youth, planting seed for a
harvest of God's strength and love, producing soldiers in an army for
the Kingdom of God.
WORLD VISION FOR OUR YOUTH
Joel 2:28, "...I will pour out my Spirit on all people, Your sons and
daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men
will see visions." I have a dream for our youth that defy's the facts
of a sin filled world. I believe when God's word is seeded within the
minds and hearts of our youth, the Holy Spirit gives them dreams and
visions that force them to look beyond the facts of mediocrity, and face
the future with power and might from on high!
FACING THE GIANTS OF LIFE WITH GOD'S
Learning to face the giants in life begins
one step at a time, with God by our side. The Joshua Project is a
ministry and outreach of Skyy Joy Ministries, reaching young people
right were they are.
